Advanced Bleeding Control Gauze

"More than six million bleeding wounds are treated annually by trauma and emergency rooms in the U.S., and Dr. Sudip Bose, an emergency physician and Iraq war veteran is witness to many of them. “I used the HemCon Bandage extensively in Iraq and it helped save countless lives; it was especially effective with amputations and penetrating wounds,” said Dr. Bose. “Wounds in the emergency room are different than those on the battlefield, but the bandage functions the same way. It stops bleeding and saves lives. There are times when I would not have been able to stop the bleeding without it. This allows me to spend the vital time performing other measures to stabilize the patient.” Dr. Bose also states that the HemCon Bandage has an added bonus: “As doctors, our mantra is to ‘Do no harm,’ and the HemCon Bandage truly does no harm. It’s extremely effective and there are no negative effects from its use.” “It’s really easy to use—soldiers with no medical experience were able to use it effectively." Dr. Sudip Bose, Attending Emergency Physician - Advocate Christ Medical Center, IL

“Well, all I can say is thank goodness I had some HemCon Bandages available this morning. My dad, who’s on Plavix took a fall at the bedside and got a head laceration. It was bleeding (profusely), I grabbed a bandage out of my bag put it over the laceration, held pressure and stopped the bleeding. When EMS arrived they actually used saline to irrigate and remove bandage and inspect the cut. I was so impressed”. Suzanne Thornburg, R.N. Clinician |
